cookie policy

findshq stores as little as possible. This page lists what gets set on your device, what happens when you click out to a retailer, and how you control all of it. Last updated 12 july 2026.

the short version

Nothing non-essential loads until you choose "allow". You can change or withdraw that choice any time with the consent link in the footer - withdrawing is as easy as allowing.

what we store

essential (always on, no consent needed)

  • a small flag remembering your consent choice, so we do not ask every visit.
  • a flag in your browser so an upvote or a view is not counted twice. These stay on your device.

analytics (only after you allow it)

  • analytics cookies (such as _ga) measure anonymous usage so we can see which gift guides help. These do not exist until you opt in, and are disabled the moment you withdraw.

We use no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this site.

when you click out to a retailer

findshq earns through affiliate links. When you click a shop link, the retailer (for example amazon) may set its own cookies on their site to attribute the visit - that is how we get credited if you buy something. Those cookies live under the retailer's policies, not ours; see the affiliate disclosure for the plain-english version of how the money works.

  • in the footer, the consent link reopens the panel to allow or withdraw at any time.
  • in your browser, you can clear or block cookies and site storage in settings; doing so also clears your saved choice, so we will ask again.

records

When you allow or withdraw, we keep a minimal record of the choice (see the privacy policy) so consent can be demonstrated. It holds no ip address or email.
